nergens anders vindt ten noorden van de Alpen. Van de Romeinse monumenten, zoals het amfitheater of de Romeinse thermen \u00a0met de keizerlijke baden en de Barbarathermen, tot aan de Porta Nigra (Romeinse poort), imponeren tot op de dag van vandaag. Ook de kathedraal van Trier, het kiespaleis, de Konstantin-basiliek en andere interessante gebouwen en monumenten zijn te bewonderen. De vele musea bieden bezienswaardigheden te over. Zo kunt u zich in het Rheinische Landesmuseum vergapen aan opgravingen uit de Lat\u00e8nezeit en tal van aandenken uit de Romeinse tijd, die uniek zijn in omvang, verscheidenheid en kwaliteit. De schatkamer van de Dom van Trier biedt een van de belangrijkste collecties van kerkelijke kunstschatten, en In het Karl-Marx-Haus, de geboorteplaats van Karl Marx, kom je meer te weten over de beroemde denker.<\/p><p>Verder is Trier een zeer aantrekkelijke winkelstad met een grote voetgangerszone met gevarieerde winkels en caf\u00e9s.
