Cycling along the Moselle
Where are you going? We are going for a bike tour along the Moselle and the beautiful trails in the area of course! While right and left along the Moselle you mostly cycle flat, paved paths, there are also paths through meadows and forests, where a little electrical support may be welcome. But also the sporty, ambitious cyclist can get their heart’s content here: thanks to a very flat altitude profile you can reach the more remote locations on the Moselle fairly quickly.
The Maare-Mosel-Bike route
The Maare-Mosel-Radweg is also very popular, even on hot summer days. The cycle route leads with a gentle slope over a disused railway line from Bernkastel-Kues to Daun, 58 km away. Along the river Lieser it leads you through fields, shady forest and some railway tunnels. If you prefer to take it easy, you can take the special Radel bus to Daun in the early morning. The bus departs in the nearby Bernkastel-Kues. After a short climb in the Eifel, the route almost exclusively leads downhill back to the Moselle.
