WINE AND STREET FESTIVALS

In the period from April to the end of the year there is a wine or street party almost every weekend. Here is a small overview.

SUMMER STAGE BERNKASTEL

During the festive season, the summer stage with free concerts attracts many visitors to Bernkastel-Kues. Every Thursday evening it is showtime for music from mainly regional artists.

MIDDLE MOSELLE WINE FESTIVAL

Particularly popular is the largest wine festival in the Middle Moselle, which takes place every year in Bernkastel-Kues on the first weekend of September. During this festival, winemakers from the surrounding villages on the Moselle present their wines. With lots of music, food and good wine, life is celebrated here from Thursday to Monday. Highlights are the big fireworks on Saturday evening and the parade of winemakers on Sunday afternoon. During this festival, local clothing is often worn. The women wear the traditional “Moselblümchen”, the men the dark blue winery jacket with a red scarf.

CHRISTMAS MARKET BERNKASTEL KUES

The year ends with the Christmas market in the town of Bernkastel-Kues. Scattered throughout the historic old town you will find small stalls and mulled wine stalls everywhere. Highlights are the torchlight swimming, an impressive fireworks show and the opening of the largest advent calendar in the region. From December 1 to December 24, every evening a door will be opened to reveal a Christmas gift.
