Hiking, cycling and nature in the Eifel National Park
The Eifel National Park, the UNESCO Geopark, the 313 km long Eifelsteig from Aachen to Trier and the Vulkaneifel trails invite you to explore this beautiful low mountain range on foot.
If you prefer to travel by bike, you can fall back on a national network of excellently developed cycle paths or experience something special and take a bike ride on one of the discontinued railway lines.
The Maren, the trademark of the Vulkaneifel, must certainly not be missed. Some of them, such as the Meefelder Maar, Pulvermaar, Schalkenmehrener Maar and the Gemündener Maar offer perefect opportunities for you to cool off on hot summer days.
Make sure you also make a trip to the many castles and palaces of the Eifel, to the historic villages with their charming half-timbered houses or to the Bitburger brewery. And last but not least, the famous Nürnburgring with its Formula 1 races, 24-hour races and around 100 races and 200 events per year is a major attraction of the Eifel.
